Scat Trak ??????

I am going to post this over here first to see what reaction I get. I just got an order of Scat Trak's in and they are not the same tire everybody is used to. This tire in 25x10x12 and in 26x12x12 is buffed all the way to the bead (they say to make them lighter) and the 26x12x12 buffs are 3lbs heavier per tire, but the thing I really don't like about them is they are a very stiff tire and the price is still the same. I didn't have any other old inventory to compare the 25's to but I am sure they are even a heavier wieght difference than the 26 buff's were. I am thinking I am sending these back because educated paddle tire people want light weight tires that flex and if this is just a 1 run deal and other people get lumberjack or CST carckuses then these tires are going to sit unless I sell the super cheap. Here are some pics. What do you guys think??

Honestly, if I was looking for a new set of smoothies and paddles and went off pictures only like I did when I bought mine, and it didn't say CST or Lumberjack on the side, I would not buy them just because of the appearance.

Greg,

Since you havent been able to test them out and being that you stated they are a harder, heavier tire.... I would send them back. It isnt worth the risk. What if you sale them and they suck. You have a really good reputation in the side x sdie industry. You wouldnt want anybody bad mouting you or the tires they bought from you.

Hell maybe you could run this set without any valve stems if the sidewalls are that stiff. LOL

Stiff will hurt you...You want your tire to flex nice for better flotation. But on a heavy higher powered machine like a R1 or maybe even the teryx they may be OK....but Hapas right. It sucks to be the guinea pig....However I do prefer them buffed bead to bead..I think its a better looking tire that way....+ its normally lighter

I think it would be hard to say without trying them out first. Bring a mounted set out to G for dune tour.... if you can wait that long before you have to return them.
