Problem installing Gear One Rack

Anyone using a gear one rack with HCR spindles and LSR 6.5" suspension? Just wondering if that combination is the problem or if it is something else. I was going to build my own tie rods with some 5/8" heims I already had. I built one and tried installing it, but I cannot get enough angle due to the heim hitting the inside edges of the clevis on the rack. Anyone ideas?

You turn the clevis up and down or sideways?

Ok guess I am an idiot. I sure thought it was already in the optimum position. I hardly moved the thing, but it appears to have clearance now. Should it be perfectly vertical or slight off from vertical?

I have the same setup, LSR XTR, HCRs and Gear One. When I installed the rack I tightened the clevises by finger until they bottomed out, then backed them out at least half a turn until they were vertical. That way they have a little ability to rotate if it isn't supposed to be "exactly" vertical or not. No problems since...

Hope that makes sense.

When I put the XMF tie rods and clevis kit on my stock rack, they told me to lean the clevis back a little or they would bind and unscrew themselves.

Well this statement goes along with my thinking. It just looked like it might be slightly better clearance being tilted slightly. I just installed it the way Gear One had them already installed and tightened down. They were tilted too far. I am sure different suspensions will have different clearance issues. Mine is +2 forward so I would think it is probably more critical since the forward angle is more than a stock kit or +1 forward.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like my tie rods will work after all and save me some cash.
