Anyone here ever put gussets on their stock spindles?.. if so any problems due to the metal the spindles are made of... or even any suggestions b4 I take em off...
Hey hey! Christian here. Yup, I do them all the time. We take them apart, pull the bearings, heat them up to about a red hot with the gusset tacked into place, and cook them on while they're at a proper temp. I personally have them on both my rhinos, one is stock with the wider offset wheels, and the other an almost tube chassis race rhino I haven't had a problem since making these gussets. I can even bend back bent spindles for an extra few bucks... We've had abvsolute great results, and I am not guaranteeing them for life, cuz sh!t happens and you never know when you're gonna kartwheel your rhino down the track, and I suppose with enough pressure, a laser cut gusset might get ripped off a cast spindle stuffing it hard enough, btu I've never seen it happen yet! I'd be happy to help you guys out if in need of doing this. Takes me a day or 2 once shipped to me by the time I get them back in the mail to you. shipping to you is about $12 wherever you're at..... lemme know!!
the stock spindle is cast, that is why there is a proccess to welding to them. We charge $125 installed and I'll ship them back to you for an extra $10. We can even bend them back a bit unless they are beyond repair. It takes me a good couple of hours or so to do a set. We have had great success repairing spindles. Not a broken one to date! It really assists the steer knuckle from ever bending again...
that little peice of metal actually has held these stock spindles up threw alot of abuse... been threw many of the sxs series at elsinore and absolutely beat to hell....
i mean the more metal the better... but like the statement says...
I do still have the gusset kits. You can see what they look like at southbayrhino.com. We also have the frame box in kits with the dimples pressed in... they look killer!
i sent you an email yesterday, did you receive it?
