Stupid question about axles

Is the axle suppose to slide back and forth in the outer cv?

no, the shaft should be tight on the outer joint. the inside joint will slide back and forth a couple inches though.

Yeah, that is it, unless you by chance are running aftermarket axles (Gorillas). They plunge in and out on both CVs.

The axles are summer brothers. I think I fixed them. I had a hard time getting the clip to set, when I thought it was set it wasn't. Took the damn things apart 4 different times. I tested it thru some woops and jumps this last time and it seems that they are set now.
