08 rear brake setup on older rhino

I'm trying to get a few questions answered from someone who has either gotten this conversion completed, or has tried it and ran into problems. I'd like to do this as well as several other, but no one seems to want to give up any information about it. I'd really appreciate the information, post or PM me. Thanks in advance. Rod

I have also wondered about this conversion. I actually considered just buying the rotors, calipers and break lines and maching the hubs and carrier.

With the rear spindles already having mounting places for a caliper I don't think it would be to difficult

I have all the parts, they sent me the wrong spindles so I should have it completed next week.

Thats a great idea! I wonder if the front stuff would fit on the back? If no one has ever tried it I will, I'm off on Thursday

the rear knuckles are different,a arms slightly, but interchangeable, hubs are same as the fronts, rotors are smaller than your fronts too...If u want to stop by I can show you all of it from different years too...later,cameron.

Aaron, I was hoping you'd post up, thanks. It looks like you've been busy since you started this conversion a few months back. I was just getting ready to order the parts and decided to check the posts one last time. Please keep us updated, we would greatly appreciate it. Did you try bolting up the 08 calipers to the 06 knuckles? Did they fit?

My goal is to try and use all stock parts. So far I'm looking at about $550-600 in parts (calipers, disks, hubs, knuckles, bolts, brake lines), I have stock suspension on mine. I have a pic of this being done and it looks like it was done with 06 knuckles though, but I don't know what else it took to complete it. A simple bolt on setup would be nice, but I doubt it's that easy, lol, but I don't think it will be that hard. I agree, it looks like Yamaha was trying to set it up with rear brakes on the older ones.

Dirtysidedown, if you try that this week, keep us posted too. Thanks,
Rod

Do the 06 rear uprights have the grease fittings on the inside like the 08 or outside like the 07???
