Do you know about circlips?

I've mentioned this in a couple of threads, but I never got any feedback.

I see a lot of posts about axles popping out, so when I read this in the service manual, I got curious if this could be contributing to the problem.

Is everyone aware that circlips are directional? The pic below shows the correct way to install them. See page 1-6 in the 660 manual, 1-8 in the 700 manual.

If all else fails, follow the instructions.

still won't matter , even if you put them in the right way. Your still going to see people having axle issues.

Thanks to all the hard work from Todd at www.151fab.com for building my rhino!

The way I read it, Yamaha is talking about all their circlips.

Do you think that putting them in opposite of what Yamaha says will make the axle more likely or less likely to pull out?

If all else fails, follow the instructions.
