Not an '05 but an '03 and an '06.

'03 Banks Six Gun, Monster Exhaust and Volant Air Raid intake.

-only problems I've had has been with the '03 and I was creating to much boost and blowing the intercooler line off the turbo.

'06 Banks Palm tuner, Monster Exhaust, K&N intake, Intercooler.

I have a '07 6.0 liter and run the SCT programmer and B&B exhaust.

What are you getting for mileage on your '05?

i had an 06 lifted all banks 6gun, intercooler, intake afe air filter ect ect, i had to get rid of it every time i towed my TH i blew the silicon boots off the turbo, left me stranded 1 to many times with my family in the middle of the desert, but i had the MBRP duals, and that was a bad ass exhaust in my opinion.

My '03 was a problem so Ford replaced it with my '07...motor has been flawless with the 6.4 liter heads.

Has a ton of power, but not sure what crack Ford was smoking when they stated it was 10-15 percent more effecient than the 7.3.

06 F350 CC. Been running an SCT programmer for 2 years. Got 17mpg my last tank. 66K miles. No problems with mine other than my turbo whines now because I towed my TH with the SCT on the performance setting up a mountain. I believe there is a service bulletin fix for the turbo tube blowing off.

I have an 05 6.0 with the Banks Six gun with PDA installed. I have had it for 2 years now. The first 8 months it was...well a frickin awesome system. But like all good thing the trouble began. I have blown off the turbo outlet tube way to many times to count. It doesnt seem to matter what your doing either. It has blown off just leaving a stop light under normal driving but mostly during towing. It is an awesome add to your truck but you WILL have nothing but trouble once all the rubber boots start to get old. I have had great cutomer service from Banks but after 3 new sets of tubes and rubber boots it still happens. It happend three times this past weekend going up to the rim camping. Also it has dented my hood from the tube hitting it from the underside. I did get 12.7 mpg with a 37 foot toyhauler though......good luck.

Any one get a good answer from Ford or Banks on this issue yet??

05 F250. I tow a WW FSW3200. BIG bitch... gvwr is 12,500. She's gotta be damn near 14k loaded. BEST MONEY SPENT was on the Reese Tow Beast with intergrated sway control. I did the Banks BigHass kit with 6gun, exhaust and intercooler. truck was leaking from factory defect (pretty common for 05's, check the rear main between the motor and tranny plate. any oil and get a new short block like I did) so I took the bundle off for warranty, then had a turbo fail. All the stuff is still off and it tows ok, slow on hills. But, that bundle made it faster then a mustang :) Oh yeah, airbags were a must have.

I've got 49K on my '05 F-250 PSD CCSB 4x4.

Blew the head gaskets at 35K and replaced the TTY head bolts with ARP studs. They replaced the HG's, turbo, and EGR valve under warranty. I gave the tech some monetary love for the ARP installation.

I run an SCT and tow a WW FSC 2800 over the Grapevine and have never had a boot blow off.

The 6.0 head bolts and bolt pattern are a poor design. The ARP head studs make up for that. The EGR valve and cooler system are also garbage so when the warranty is up, do a complete EGR delete.

The other option is to Destroke it with a 5.9 Cummins.

I would recomend the complete egr delete right from the get go.. That is the culprit of many issues.

I just got my 05 250 6.0 back from the dealer after having the EGR cooler go out on me. It took out the mapping sensor too.
I have 65,000 + a little on my motor. It is stock except for the air filter, tires and wheels. I tow a 30'box on occasion, but otherwise it is normal driving.
They fixed it under warranty, with the $100.00 deductible.

I am kinda sad that they didnt have to do the head gaskets, with all I have been reading about those studs. It sucked being broke down, but if the head gasket, head bolt issue would have been taken care of this time maybe the truck would last a lot longer. ????

I am sure happy to get my truck back though:clap::clap:

I must have been one of the rare ones that didn't have any trouble at all with his 6.0.
I had a 2005 Dually with the 6.0. I had the Hypertech PTM installed since 10K miles and I just sold it with 65K miles.
I did have an oil leak problem when I first bought it, but they fixed it and I ran the hell outta it. It worked very well for me. You'll probably love that Bullydog, but I pulled that hypertech system out before I got rid of the truck. I got it for sale.

my 05 had the head gaskets go at 17k - Mine is all stock with 38k miles now. out of the nine 6.0's in our group mine is the only one that hasnt had the turbo replaced. I also pull the smallest trailer and get the worst milage:confused:
