There has been a little talk about the nude or NSFW Avatars...... I understand that many of our members frequent the forum while at work.... We here at Rhinotalk.net do not censor the Avatars unless requested by the majority of our members.... Instead of asking members to change or cover up their avatars I have found a better solution....
You can set you user profile not to show Avatars.... this will ensure that you are safe at work. Here is how to do it...
Click on User CP at the top of the screen...... On the left hand side under "Your Control Panel" go down to "Settings and Options" and Click on "Edit Options".... Scroll down to "Thread Display Options" and uncheck the box middle box "Show Avatars".... then go to the bottom and click "Save Changes".
No more Avatars..... You can browse at work again.
Okay, looks like I'm the only one here in this, and that's fine... I thought about bringing this up before but just haven't.
I personally have an issue with the avatars. As much as the traffic is monitored at work and the security there it is bad times for me having any of that content coming up at all on my computer. I've had the avatars turned off for quite some time which helps but they still come up on other pages like when viewing members' profiles. With my line of work I know that just having that content downloaded even if nobody sees it on my screen can be noticed and cause trouble. I have had some close calls with some of the unlabeled NSFW stuff coming up too so I pretty much just consider the whole website not work safe, just to play it safe.
On the other hand, I'm all for if you don't like it then don't do it, so I try not to bitch about it and just avoid spending too much time here at work. I won't ask to have them censored, just my two cents ... It's my choice if I want to risk it, is how I see it. :good:
alright more naked avitars.....now fmf can go back to naked guys and shit....fiver can have his bull nuts up full time..... good ideas cuz if my boss ever saw the shit i was looking at...oh thats me....some you guys workin for the man huh??.. i dont have patience for anyone elses shit...
I turned off avatars along time ago on all sites. The edit options what to show is the only NSFW avatar combat. What you don't realize is even if you hide the ass that's in the avatar from the monitor it still ends up in your cache. At my work at least they find that shit and people loose there jobs.
I see now there is ass showing up in the signature. You can turn off signatures also if needed. Too bad we loose all the content though. I can google anythng I want to see and I come here for rhinos.
If you want a great site for ass go check out redtube.com (definately NSFW) That's my new favorite. Save this site for rhinos.
I look at it like this........I dont worry too much about them looking at what site I visit I not on a porno site.....I'm sure my Boss would rather me doing something productive instead of playing on the net........So if trouble is coming its because I'm slackin and not gettin Enough accomplished....not because of what I seen when I was there.
Chandles correct... You can also turn off the signatures and all pictures that are posted.... All in the same place.
Anytime I see something that is questionable (other than Avatars) I go ahead and mark it NSFW.... Sometimes I also move the topic to the adult section. I am sure I dont catch them all as many, many threads (well all of the threads) are highjacked and get off topic.
When I do work it is out of my home office so I am ok with anything..... but I understand the NSFW issue for others and I tend to agree.... I would like to keep the Avatars work friendly but it is an open forum......
I will start a poll and lets see what the members want....
