Rog if its under your hood think about how much easier it is to keep clean (although being where its at makes me also check oil and other such nots) not just with maintainence but also riding in general and the loss of noise would be a big benefit for the wife and kids.

Cleaning prob would not change. If you want to get rid of some carb noise then put a 1 1/2" hole down low in the front of the air box. I did this with Nicki's rhino and most of the carb noise went away and it gets more air.

I also put the stupid little pre filter from the engine cover around the hole. it will fit in right in front of the filter in the box.

Try it you will be surprised I believe.

On mine, I run an open K&N and put hole in front of it in the engine cover for cooler air, but it is still noisey that way.

ebay cold air intake

That's the kit I'm waiting to get. I'm waiting because they aren't available yet, but they said this week (8/10-8/17) hopefully. I've seen a write up where they used a 2.5" hose and snorkeled it up under the hood too and said they had good results, but I'm too lazy to go get hose(d). I agree with a little easier to clean than pulling seats, it's possibly some cooler/cleaner air but mostly just to reduce the noise level for me. I contacted one of the people that bought the kit through ebay, they said they hadn't installed it yet but said it looked pretty good. They said they bought it because of the ease of getting to the filter too though. Rod

Anyone get this kit yet? I have a K&N intake (not the drop in style) that is kinda noisy, so if this kit helps then I think I will switch.

Yeah but problem is that I don't have the stock airbox anymore.
