WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE POR 15 PAINT OVER POWDERCOAT?
WILL IT HOLD UP FOR DESERT RACING OR SHOULD I JUST POWDERCOAT THE CHASSIS?
HAS ANYONE EVER USED THIS TYPE OF PAINT???

most racers dont paint there cages. this allows them to see and stress cracks that paint might hide. this allows them to weld them up and not have to grind off any paint doing so. every second counts when racing

But powder coat looks ten times better if you are going for looks.
OH YEAH I UNDERSTAND THE REASON FOR LEAVING THE CHASSIS " RAW " BUT MILD STEEL WILL RUST HORRIBLY AND I JUST WANTED TO SAVE SOME DUCKETS
AAAHHHH FUCK IT I'LL JUST POWDER IT AFTERALL  ...IT'S ONLY MONEY RIGHT !!!! LOOKS LIKE THE RACE RADIO WILL HAVE TO WAIT A WHILE:mad:

THANKS KYLE!!

what color you thinking
all flat black ....of course!!!!:D
The standard POR 15 isnt UV stable. It will change color slightly when in the sun. You would have to use a top coat. It is hard as all crap, but after using it on some other projects, I would suggest just doing powder coat.

I think POR 15 will resist chipping much better, but its harder to apply, and may end up costing more, to do it correctly.
