Here is the silicone culprit that many have talked about, It was hiding in my fuel filter. Luckily my pump sucked it all the way up to the filter and did not clog the pick up line. sorry pic is a little fuzzy. 900 miles and I thought I would change the filter just for GP and there it was.

About 1 yr ago i called yamaha about that shit in my filter and they thought i was crazy....took it to the dealer and they sayd they have never seen that before and i was the first one to have a problem....dont thinks so, think yamaha is in denial about there fuel system.... They say the silicone they use on the top sending unit cover is getting eating up by the fuel...so they use yamabond 3 days later, went to pick up my heap and the filter had a bunch of black crap in it....so they just installed the cover with the gasket and no sealant....now it is good to go.....

At least your dealer knew where to find it! I went in to my dealer to get a fuel filter, and they told me the Rhino didn't use one. He suggested Knechts if I really thought I needed to add one..

fuel filter

i have seen them get pluged when the are brand new vehicles coming right off the shipping trucks. i found that FRAM G3606 fuel filter to work better it flows more fuel and filters alot better and it is about the same price as those plastic ones from the dealer.

I bought a bigger Fram G2D and a spare, took tank out to clean and noting in there, so all is good now. What a PITA to get out of the RHino.

07 450cc Fuel Problems

I wonder if the 450 Rhino can have the same problem? I have had the carburetor rebuilt and then replaced. Also the fuel filter replaced. Still cuts out going down hill and then hard to start unless U use starting fluid. What should I do/ Is the problem that silicone thing, which I have no idea of what that is. Two Yamaha shop mechanics are stumped I need some help.
