give the guy a chnace... Theres gotta be a reason. I'll wait patiently til someone says something, cuz I wouldnt mind knowing... Man, I would love to do a swap, even if its just 2wd and has no reverse.... Who's good at building these for people? If I brought just a frame? Anyone??? how much??
I doubt that you would want that....My rhino is 2wd and has no reverse...but I'm already regretting it and I know I'm headed for tough times at the dunes
dude reverse is a must!!
cost...heres a link for some rough numbers.
1000cc+ Rhinos

true dat! I kinda like my rhino. has a sick big bore and hauls the mail for what it is.... Heres a pic or 2 from last weekend. I'm just bored of the slow speeds. I am content with it at the regular dirt as opposed to sand. Maybe I should just build a prerunner truck with a stroker small block and be done with the withdrawls of going so slow....

Give him a chance at what???? No one is trying to ban him! We were just pointing out the fact that its stupid to hide things like that! We are all here to share ideas and new things that we find. Its not like a competition to see who has the baddest rhino and never tell how you made it!

Hell, half of the guys on here wouldnt have swapped their Rhino's had it not been for Max Powers and Warlock!

All I am saying is if I found a new way to use "engine X" in a rhino, I would be telling everyone how......no big deal!

Wow.....your rhino was sick as shit....why'd you turn it into the 4 seat look?

Are you having withdrawls from selling your rhino or what?

Ive helped those, in the past, too...the ones that are SERIOUS about the engine swaps as well....way back when on the Black Rhino Forums....as some of you remember, alot of it (threads) was lost or earased...There are still a few pics there tho.:good:

Again, if ANYONE needs more info than they see here, just PM me. Its as easy as that.:p

Are you serious? Having withdrawals? I dont understand how that makes any sense based on what I said....but alrighty then!!:eek:k:

I simply stated it seemed a little childish to play the "secrets" game about a transmission you purchased! NOW, had you built your own, I can understand! But it was just something you purchased.....like tires or wheels or anything else! If you find something you know others would be interested in, why not inform the rest of us?

Thats all........ maybe you understand my point now and realize that this has nothing to do with me even owning a Rhino, let alone swapping one! Just the basic purpose of being a member on the forum.....to share information and experiences!:good:

Look, I can see where your coming from, however there is WAY more to it than just buying a part.
There are modifacations neccessary...the gearbox has to be "converted" to a tranfser-case. it is not just a "bolt-on" or "drop-in" part. It is my R&D that has made this possible... And, it can be used in MANY in other 4X4 side-by-side applications, so , for now its private info. :punish:

so use the PM! thats what its for!!!

On other forums (automotive) Ive had others steal my ideas and sell them for a profit, :( so, for now, I'm trying to avoid a repeat of that...Mabey you understand that?
Are you planning on having a single range box?

I totally understand that. In fact, had you mentioned some of that info from the get-go, I think everyone would have understood!:mad::good:

Nope, but if thats what you want they are "out there"
what is the gear box to show in your picture???
It is made for Bombardier, by Sisu Diesel, and is used in Skidoo snowmobiles.
They are using 1000CC+ and 130HP on these sleds and they have a towing capacity of 1500Lbs.

They cost $1700:p

You can see it here...under Skidoo, 2006, Expidition, V-1000, transmission....

I have this up for sale now...over at the other forum... and on here in the for sale section....with more pics....

$12,500....FIRM....
I have a rhino with a 450 in it im thinking of putting a gsxr 600 motor in but i also want to keep my 4 wheel drive! also i would like to have revers any suggestions?
Who manufactures that gear box ?

I'm familiar with Quaife in Great Britian, but that doesnt look like thier gear box, plus its usually intalled at the rear axel because it has a diff in it with reverse. I noticed your unit is installed behind the engine but prior to the rear axel asembly, it is pretty slick install, I like that you were able to keep the 4x4 with reverse. Can you send me some additional infomation or call me ? I noticed that all of these threads are close to 4 years old.
are you running a factory rhino radiator? if so does it stay cool?
I came across this build thread as I have a rhino with a broken engine and looking for options. Can this group guide me into other possible swap candidates? Couldn't find a cheap R1 or even a 660 for that matter. I am very handy with tools. Thanks again
Go into the forum this thread is in, and read up on the many options. I did a Rotax conversion to keep 4x4....lots of documentation for you to devour..😊😊
