How about getting EFI live and take that damn thing off. I think PPE might have a programmer that could do the same thing.

Truck runs great. I add Stanadyne on each fill up. I would remove it but I payed extra for the 75000 bumper to bumper and don't want to void it. Plus everyone I know that has removed it and added a tune gets either check engine lights or goes into limp mode for no reason or both.

Even with EFI live? I thought I had read on the dieselplace that people with efi live run fine without the DPF. Guess I might have read wrong.

only a chevy lover wouldnt think flames out of the exhaust isnt cool!!

I got a solid 7.3PSD that I just cant complain about...I just like stirring it up witht he Chevy guys! I'm not hating on you Moss!
Honestly, if i ever bought a ford, it would be with the 7.3 powerstroke. Now if they had offered that motor with the torqshift tranny, they would have a winner.

But I would not ever trade in Duramax with Ally for anything.

lots of people have had bad luck with the tranny's that came in my truck but I have almost 135K miles on mine with no issues...I did replace the torque converter a few months back.......my good friend Rusty has a 02 with 7.3 w/ 145K miles on it and the origional tranny...like anything I thin it has to do with how you drive it and how you maintain it......anyway! Good luck with that Chevy...

I have heard good things about the 7.3 International that Ford used. My neighbor has one on 40's and 350000 miles and says he has not had any issues and just does regular maintenance. It was the ride and interior that sold me on my Chevy. I am a little pissed now that I see the current deals that GM and Ford both are offering. Now is the time to buy if you need a diesel for towing and don't want used.
