I would probably give you about 2-3 hours until the battery would be too low to run the starter motor.
travis, I'll have a jumper box and cables with me. You should be fineO.k. I'm not very good at this electrical b.s.
I finally got all my lights wired up for the glamis night run and I wanted to check where I was running volt wise.
Dash gauge readings
Idleing I have 14 volts
5 HIDs on my rack all on I have 11 volts
rack and headlight taillights on I have just under 10
How long will it take for my rhino to die?
I want to make sure I'm not going to be stranded out in the dunes with a dead battery.
I think it was covered over at commieforums but where is the safe spot?
getting the motor done?which one fit? can you squeeze the 30 LED/ 1157 in there??
Oops it was slow and doubled my postwhich one fit? can you squeeze the 30 LED/ 1157 in there??
the 24's in red work great. Wide anglewhich one fit? can you squeeze the 30 LED/ 1157 in there??
A second battery just delays the problem KJ at 11 volts it will just take longer for the batteries to die, but they will.your not running a second battery for those lights?
it is there as i type...getting the motor done?![]()
a man of many talents.....keep us posted:clap:it is there as i type...
Just wondering if 11 volts is at idle or mid to full throttle. You should get more power from your stator as you throttle up.
5 HIDs = 175w
2 40 headlights= 80 w
2 tail lamps 5w=10w (brake lights are 20 each when on)
the stator has only 220 available
Lights alone are drawing 265w and the motor need juice also. at 22+ amps draw you will not see more voltage even when revving, but you might overheat the rectifier and burn it up as it tries to keep up.
TO overcome this you need an alt kit to be reliable.

I would never leave a brother form another mother stranded, If all else fails, I have a tow rope.I'm working on rectifying the problem I just was wondering if I'll be o.k. for this trip.
I already have hid replacements and I have the yamaha led replacment taillights.
Mark If you have jumpers I'll be o.k. with that. I just want to make sure I wont be stranded.
Thanks for the info guys.
and we all know how well that thing pulls another rhino right ryan:laugh:I would never leave a brother form another mother stranded, If all else fails, I have a tow rope.
I know how hard his is to pull when the front diff is still locked in that's for sure. LOLand we all know how well that thing pulls another rhino right ryan:laugh:
